Edris was born in Woodstock a seventh generation Vermonter.  After a brief career in nursing Edris and her husband Eric opened “The Shoe Box” in 1976.  In 1979 the young couple had the opportunity to buy commercial real estate in Woodstock. They eventually bought 29 Central St and W.H. Shurtelffs sporting goods and shoe store. Footprints was born in this new location and became what it is today.
